Scholarship Description
Greenbuild is the world's largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. Thousands of building professionals from all over the world come together at Greenbuild for three days of outstanding educational sessions, renowned speakers, green building tours, special seminars, and networking events. Greenbuild presents the ideal format to learn about green building and form worthwhile relationships within the green building industry. The Arizona Chapter and Greenbuild Host Committee will provide a set number of need-based Greenbuild Scholarships to individuals from groups underrepresented in the green building industry. This is a need-based scholarship; USGBCAZ will provide scholarships to individuals in low-income households (with household income levels near or below twice the federal poverty line as determined by the United States government).  The Arizona Based Scholarship includes a Full Conference Registration to Greenbuild, but does not include travel, meals, lodging, or other benefits.
Scholarship Details
Scholarship recipients will receive one full-conference registration package to attend the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Phoenix, Arizona, to be held November 11 - 13 2009.  In addition to attending Greenbuild, scholarship recipients will have the ability to develop closer relationship with their local chapters. Scholarships will be awarded in early October.
Scholarship Application Requirements
The following  enclosed documents must be submitted by each applicant. A Greenbuild Scholarship Application will not be considered to be complete without the following:  AZ Greenbuild Scholarship Application Form  Release form (travel and additional requirements listed in this USGBC form need not apply to Arizona based recipients)
A Financial Assistance Form is also included in this packet. While you do not need to complete this form with your initial submission, if you are selected to receive a Greenbuild scholarship, you will be required to fill out and submit documentation of your household income. The financial assistance form and income documentation must be completed before the scholarship can be awarded.

Scholarship Recipients will be expected to attend and participate in all programming and events related to the Greenbuild Scholarship.  Recipients are required to attend at least seven educational sessions, and recipients may be required to attend a press conference during Greenbuild.
The Arizona Chapter will Coordinate Scholarship Application Process As the Host Committee for Greenbuild, the Arizona Chapter has been asked to coordinate the Scholarship Application Process. Ten (10) Scholarships from the USGBC are being offered to encourage social equity and diversity in attendance at Greenbuild 2009 in Phoenix. These Scholarships will cover the full conference registration.  This is a need-based scholarship; USGBC will provide scholarships to individuals in low-income households. Applicants must be 18 years old on November 10, 2009.
